Concrete Construction Estimator

Full time EMPLOYMENT | $55,000 - $65,000/yr

CMC Solutions, LLC is looking for a qualified full time Construction Estimator to assist in commercial concrete bids and business development in the Des Moines Metro area. Responsibilities include maintaining sales forecast and project status reports for commercial concrete jobs, and actively submitting timely contract bids for commercial and municipal business. Compensation negotiable based on experience and knowledge in the commercial concrete industry. An ideal client will be a self-starter with a background in commercial concrete and bid management in civil engineering projects.

Duties:

  • Research potential job markets and projects to obtain new work around Des Moines Metro

  • Prepares and presents proposals in complete and professional manner, according to company standards. Follows-up on hard bids and offers value engineered solutions to customers. 

  • Manage bids in response to requests for proposal for commercial & municipal concrete jobs in Des Moines Metro

  • Responsible for entire process of negotiating time and quantifying volume cost of various projects through blue prints

  • Secure subcontractor and material bids for estimates

  • Keep a status journal of jobs and follow up log for opportunities in a timely matter

  • Deliver critical feedback to company CEO about each bid including market insights into competitor bids, status, and final outcome reviews

  • Prospect for new business, developing relationships with general contractors, builders, commercial developers, property managers and others. Plans and maintains adequate leads to cover the market. 

  • Coordinate timely resolution of customer complaints and issues

  • Work with company CEO for annual sales forecast and performance measurement

Key Performance Metrics: 

  • Actual sales to budget 

  • Close ratio on proposals presented 

  • Ratio of proposals submitted to backlog goals and objectives 

  • Margin on projects sold – pricing at targeted or above target margins. 

  • Ensure profitable work. 

  • Accuracy and completeness of sales, customer, prospect database information Development of loyal/repeat/referral customer base

Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience in concrete bidding role

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline, but qualified experience will be taken into account

  • Sales experience a plus, but not required

  • Experience with reading and quantifying volumes on blue prints

  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with bothexternal and internal Customers

  • Ideally with Commercial concrete industry bid experience

Commercial Concrete Business Development

Full time EMPLOYMENT | $17-$20/HR

CMC Solutions, LLC is looking for a qualified full time Business Development Professional to assist in commercial concrete bids and sales in the Des Moines Metro area. Responsibilities include maintaining sales forecast and project status reports for commercial concrete jobs, and actively submitting timely contract bids for commercial and residential projects. Compensation negotiable based on experience and knowledge in the commercial concrete industry. An ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a background in sales within the commercial concrete industry.
